"Thy Word Is Truth: Part Five"
Psalms 119 v 33-40
"Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end. 34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart. 35 Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. 36 Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness. 37 Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way. 38 Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear. 39 Turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy judgments are good. 40 Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness."
As we continue our study of God’s holy Word the Bible let us not grow weary, for as the eyes are the keys to the soul in man, God’s Word is the passion of Almighty God!!!
John Calvin wrote of the Word of God, “there is a bit of divinity in it”. Not that the Bible is divine nor should it be worshipped, but that its purpose and its very existence IS MEANT TO DRAW PEOPLE TO THE ONE TRUE GOD AND TO HELP ASSIST IN DEVELOPING AN INTENSE INTIMATE LOVE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CREATOR OF ALL THINGS…….

I don’t want to coerce anyone to be excited about LOVING the Word of God, nor do I want anyone to fake being amazed and astounded by it; I pray YOU CAN LOVE IT FOR YOURSELVES. As I most certainly do. Besides God, my wife Maureen, my wonderful sons Adam and Aaron; THE WORD OF GOD IS THE GREATEST TREASURE OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!
Thank you God for your Bible, because of it, I LOVE YOU, I KNOW I NEED YOU, I KNOW I AM SAVED ETERNALLY BY YOUR ONLY BEGOTTEN SON’S SHED BLOOD…….
May the universe SEE THE TRUTH OF THY WORD, “THY WORD IS TRUTH”!!!!!!!
This Fifth section of Psalms 119 is entitled: the letter “h” HE.
V 33…Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.
Only God’s Holy Spirit can teach us the truth and understanding of His Word. We cannot read on our own, we cannot understand the Bible UNLESS THE HOLY SPIRIT IS TEACHING US.
John 14 v 26
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
The desire to read and the ability to understand what we read IS THE GIFT OF GOD…….
That desire to read and understand God’s holy Word enables the genuine believer TO KEEP ALL THE HOLY STATUTES TO THE VERY END, OBEYING IS A CHOICE NOT SIMPLY AN UNOBTAINABLE DESIRE…
The indwelling of the Holy Spirit gives us the grace, mercy, and power to live righteous lives, even, moment by moment…
1 Thessalonians 4 v 7-8
“God didn't call us to be sexually immoral but to be holy. 8 Therefore, whoever rejects this {order} is not rejecting human authority but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.”
The person who seeks God through His Word SEEKS A GLORIOUS THING, AND THE FINAL RESULT WILL BE ETERNAL LIFE!!!!!!!!
V 34…Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
Only God can give you spiritual understanding through His Words in the inerrant infallible Bible, through God sent Pastors, Preachers, Evangelists, Teachers, Witnesses, through genuine “born again” believers!
Again cry out to God for guidance and supernatural spiritual understanding, and THEN YOU SHALL BE ABLE TO KEEP THE LAW, WITH YOUR WHOLE HEART…….
The power of CHOICE!!!
With salvation comes freedom of choice, with sin comes slavery…
V 35…Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein
do I delight.
Only you Lord can keep me in the path of your commandments, and because of your LOVE for me, I delight in YOUR BIBLE!
V 36…Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.
Help me not have LOVE for greed or material things, INSTEAD HAVE MY HEART THOROUGHLY LOVE AND PRACTICE YOUR TESTIMONIES…
V 37…Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.
Once again it is obvious only in God’s grace and strength can our sins be controlled, Lord, you turn my eyes away from vanity and sin. Only in your WAY DO I HAVE LIFE.
John 14 v 6
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
V 38…Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear.
Stablish, Lord MAINTAIN YOU WORDS TO ME. Keep your promises. I am totally devoted TO WORSHIPPING YOU…….
Not because I must, but because of my great LOVE for you…….
V 39…Turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy judgments are good.
Turn the reproach of the world away from me, for the world hates me because I LOVE you and want to ever obey your holy precepts…
They seek to find my hidden sins THAT THEY MIGHT RIDICULE ME.
V 40…Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.
You have searched my heart oh Lord, and you know I LOVE you and your Words, give me life through YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS…….
God and God alone can teach us His precepts through His glorious Words. Only He can give us true wisdom. ***Only Jesus Christ and He alone can give us salvation. Only by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit can true Christians live holy lives. To deny we can live Holy lives IS A LIE FROM SATAN!!!
LOVE God and His Words for this is the only way we can be truly blessed…….
