"Thy Word Is Truth: Part Four"
Psalms 119 v 25-32
“My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word. 26 I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes. 27 Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works. 28 My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. 29 Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously. 30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. 31 I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame. 32 I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.”
Daleth is the fourth letter of the Hebrew alphabet and it is the title of the fourth section of Psalms 119…
Thus far we have learned in section one “Alepth”, that the Bible IS GOD’S WORD, AND GOD’S WORD ALONE!!!
In “Beth” section two we learn THERE IS NO REAL HAPPINESS OR JOY WITHOUT A PERSON NATURALLY WANTING TO OBEY GOD’S WORD, AND THAT IS ONLY POSSIBLE THROUGH A GENUINE LOVE RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST!!!
In the third section “Gimel” we discussed the various problems associated with humanity that hinder our willing and joyous obedience to God’s awesome and holy perfect Word. We realized only by COMLETELY FOCUSING ON JESUS CHRIST AND HIS HOLY BIBLE IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE…
Pray, study, KNOW JESUS CHRIST, SERIOUSLY SINCERELY READ AND STUDY GOD’S WORD THE BIBLE, THE SIXTY-SIX BOOKS OF THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS; AND THOSE BOOKS ALONE…….
Certainly good Christian devotional books are great faith helps but only as they DO NOT CONTRADICT ANY REAL TEACHING FROM THE BIBLE!!!!!!! *******GOD WILL NEVER CONTRADICT HIS LIVING WORD THE BIBLE!!!
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER……………………………………
Now let us turn to “Daleth”:
V 25…“My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.”
In the natural man, in our fallen natures, our souls seek dust, we seek death. But through the LOVE and diligent study of God’s Word WE SEEK LIFE AND LIFE EVERLASTING…
God give me life THROUGH YOUR WORD, THROUGH YOUR GRACE AND MERCY GIVE ME LIFE ETERNAL…….
V 26 “I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.”
I have conscientiously searched my ways and have recognized my sinfulness. You oh Lord have heard my prayers of repentance. Please, now teach me your holiness, teach me your holy perfect word…….
That I might LIVE IN THEM…….
V 27…”Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.”
Lord God, I willingly ask you to do WHATEVER IT TAKES FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND YOUR WAY AND GLORIOUS SUBMISSION TO YOUR PRECEPTS…
Then will I be able to share YOUR BREATHTAKING GOSPEL WITH THE WORLD OF SINNERS…….
V 28…”My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.”
My tears overflow from the sorrows of my heart, God have mercy on me, strengthen me ACCORDING TO YOUR MAGNIFICIENT WORD!!!!!!!
Philippians 4 v 13
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
V 29…”Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously.”
Lord God, there is so much that wishes to deceive me, so much which desires to hide the reality of your truth from me. Lies, lies, lies, are all I hear from secular society, from false prophets and false teachers, from even perhaps my inner demons. All wanting me to denounce you and your holy words the Bible! Constantly taking every effort to de-value your Word or make it irrelevant, impractical, or worthless……
Oh God, grant me thy law graciously, give it to me a as a perfect moral code, have me see it and understand it through the Gospel of Jesus Christ not by the letter of the law that damns, but by the grace of your LOVING mercy that I may be forgiven…….
V 30…I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.”
By the power of your saving grace I HAVE CHOSEN YOU AND THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH OF YOUR WORD, thy judgments do I study meticulously, protect me always from my spiritual weaknesses…
God gives each of us the choice to accept Him or reject Him, but God is the one that sustains us and keeps us in His eternal graces…….
V 31…”I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame.”
I have been eternally glued to the righteousness of thy testimonies, your Word is forever part of me; now Lord cover my sins. Blot out all of my past, present, and any future sins I may have, make me not ashamed in the hour of eternal judgment, FOR YOU HAVE ETERNALLY WIPED AWAY MY SINS FOREVERMORE!!!!!!!
Because I have accepted the saving grace of your Word and have humbly repented of all my sins, and tenderly receive Jesus Christ as my only Lord, my only God, and my only Savior. For only His shed blood can pay for my sins and the sins of the world!!!!!!!
Praise be His holy name!!!
V 32…”I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.”
I will live moment by moment by the power of your grace to willingly and joyously obey your commandments, your wonderful words. My heart and soul shall ever grow towards your perfection, drawing closer and closer to your glorious righteousness. Why because I must, no, because I LOVE you so………………………………
Thy Word ever draweth me to you…….
This section of Psalms 119 makes clear without God and His Word we are imperfect. Therefore in light of His Word we must confess our sins. Pleading for His mercy and grace through His Word. Let us pray that God gives us the strength and power to trust and obey His Word, for: There is no other way…
